In 2009, Fleet Feet Sports, New Balance and local sponsor Whole Foods North Wales partnered to help people just like you walk or run your first 5k. The program focuses on male and female beginners, but all levels of walkers and runners are welcome. This past year a woman with a love of running brought 2 friends and they were amazed at their success. Another woman completed the training with her teenage son to increase their healthy lifestyle and bring them closer.
The program is structured to help you cross the finish line of your first 5K in less than three months. Along the way we'll be providing you with motivation to keep you moving, guidance and advice, weekly group training runs or walks, and educational clinics on topics such as proper nutrition, choosing the right gear, and avoiding injury. These clinics will be provided by local experts; Fleet Feet Sports, Local Doctors and Whole Foods North Wales. Plus, you'll have the camaraderie of others just like you.
As part of the experience, program participants will receive the following:
* A complete 12-week training program and calendar with detailed workouts provided
* Two coached training session per week, to be held at Fleet Feet Sports every Tuesday evening and Saturday morning.
* Informational clinics on proper footwear, injury prevention, and nutrition
* Weekly e-mail from the coach with tips, advice and motivation/encouragement
* Dedicated support from the coach to answer individual questions
* Special shopping night
* New Balance Technical T-shirt and jacket
* Plus much more!
* The fee for the program is $75.00
* Kickoff Party March 23rd.
* Training will begin Saturday March 27th and the Race will be The Summer Soltice, June16.

Nov 7 was the culmination of Fleet Feet's 2nd No Boundaries Program, a 12 week 5k training porgram. This incredible group of men and women, boys and girls, worked hard running and walking since August 15 to prepare for I Can Run 5k. Almost all had never completed a 5K before. The program not only taught the group that they could complete the 5k, but also created some very strong friendships.
See some photos in our photo galleries.
See what they had to say about their personal success:
"My involvement in the No Boundaries program was very helpful in continuing my desire to be more healthy. I am able to run more than I did in the beginning, still slow, but I am running and will continue to increase my time."
"The coaches, Vicki and Ann were WONDERFUL!!! Everyone at Fleet Feet was very supportive and I have met people that I would not have met if I hadn't joined. I hope that you are able to continue the program and make it bigger and better! A big THANK YOU to everyone involved!!"
"The main expectation was to provide a fun, challenging, yet manageable physical activity that my son and I could together could successfully undertake to incorporate more fitness into his life."
"The initial reasons for doing this program were surpassed by our stronger mother/son bond, the tremendous memories on to which we will hold, the friends we made and our new found love of running!"
"This program was filled with so many perks. Not only did we learn the obvious running information, but we were treated to an unbelievable amount of free give always as well as a much needed variety of nutritional knowledge."
"I was actually amazed at the level of attention that each of us got."
See how No Boundaries can change your life too. The next training for Spring 2010 will begin in March. Watch for the official registration kickoff or contact us at staff@fleetfeetnorthwales.com. Can't wait to see you out there with us!
