RULES
Athletes may request a partial deferral by submitting an email request prior to January 1st. Approved requests will be entitled to a credit of 50% of your race entry fee only toward another CGI produced race in that race season year.
After January 1st all entries are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable.
* If you attempt to sell your race number, you may be banned from future CGI Racing events for three years.
* Race numbers are required to participate - no bandits!
* You must be at least 12 years old to participate.
* You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenge.
* You must pick up your own race packet and race number at the Expo.
* You must show photo ID to receive your race number and timing tag.
* Coaches, baby-joggers, bikes, dogs, in-line skates, skateboards or dogs will not be allowed on the course.
TIME LIMITS
* You must be able to complete the 1/2 Marathon within 4 hours of the Official ½ Marathon Start (gun time, not chip time).
* Please note – this is gun time, not chip time. We have factored in the time it will take for the last corrals to cross the start line. Please plan your training accordingly.
RACE DAY TEMPERATURE
It could go either way here. We, of course, think the weather will be perfect. The average low is 40 degrees so layer your clothing at race start and as the sun rises, it will warm up to about 60 degrees (average high in April). Please check the race day weather forecast when you get into town and dress accordingly.
CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS
Athletes may request a partial deferral by submitting an email request prior to January 1st. Approved requests will be entitled to a credit of 50% of your race entry fee only toward another CGI produced race in that race season year.
After January 1st all entries are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-deferrable.
START LINE
Start Line Corrals
The corral system assures a smooth start to your race. Signage will be placed along the corral to note the proper start location for runners (based upon your estimated finish time). For example, those estimating a finish time of 1:20 or better (under 6 minute miles) will corral in corral #1 and so on, in fifteen minute increments up to 3:45 (17:10 min/mile).
Runners NEED to position themselves in the proper corral.
If you are running 10 min/miles and line up in the 1st corral (to be with your friend) it is unfair to those runners who will have to make their way around you. This can also be very dangerous to both you and other runners.
FINISH LINE
Once you cross the finish line you’ll enter a Secure Zone – a fenced off area for race participants only.
Here you will get your photo taken - and receive water, sports drink, food, and your finisher’s medal. Once you exit the Secure Zone you may not return.
Outside the exit, you can join your family and friends at the Finish Line Festival.
